The glistening Ovation-1013 will inspire you to make glass. It is rugged, reliable, and designed to last. When you need speed, you can rapidly fire production loads of glass. Enjoy fusing, slumping, pate de verre, and painting in this large production kiln. Imagine making large screen prints on glass. Fire quantities of glass decals, create large paintings with frit and stringers, experiment with recycled glass. You might even try glass weaving.
13” deep for slumping glass
If you have been firing a smaller kiln, you will be amazed at the space inside the Ovation-1013. Fire several large projects such as bowls or platters in one load. The 13” depth allows you to slump tall molds. The sidewall elements, mounted in two horizontal rows of grooves, improve heat distribution near the edges of shelves. This is especially desirable for large slumping projects.
Lift the lid effortlessly
Dual spring-assisted lid springs transfer the weight of the lid to a massive hinge assembly on the back of the kiln. This reduces the stress on the kiln wall to give your kiln the long life that Paragon kilns are famous for. The patented spring counter-balance, called the LiteLid, adjusts the hinge to compensate for expansion during firing.

Pinless element grooves
The Ovation-1013 lid elements use an element groove that eliminates element pins. The element coils are wider than the groove opening, so the elements stay in place without pins. The sidewall element coils are protected in dropped, recessed grooves.

Glass must be fired on a shelf! If you do not currently have kiln furniture, the lightweight CoreLite shelf kit is Factory recommended, and includes:

Optional windows
The Ovation-1013 comes with two large, tapered peepholes. They offer a wide view of the firing chamber with little heat loss. Or you can order the kiln with optional glass windows, which replace the peepholes.
The peepholes, both sides of the lid and top rim of sidewall firebrick are hardened and sealed with a special refractory coating to protect the ware from dust.
Optional Lid Safety Switch
The optional lid safety switch turns off power to the heating elements when the lid is raised. The controller remains powered. The switch turns the power to the elements back on when the lid is closed. The switch mounts to the back of the lid.

Long lasting wiring
Wires are fastened to the heating elements with heat-dissipating connectors that have been refined and proven over many years in Paragon kilns. Elements are coiled from the finest high-temperature wire available. The thermocouple, which measures heat inside the kiln, is protected with a high-nickel stainless steel sheath for long life.
Thermocouple with “special limit” wireThe thermocouple senses temperature inside the kiln. It is the small rod that extends into the firing chamber. The ¼” wide Type-K, 14-gauge, exposed-tip thermocouple is made with special-limit wire for superior accuracy. The exposed tip gives the controller a fast response time for even temperatures during holds. The thermocouple is made in America to our exacting standards. |

The Ovation Ovation Oval 1013 Kiln Comes with Two Heavy Duty Rolling Stands, 32” Square x 18” HighTwo deluxe kiln stands with locking casters are included with the kiln. Enjoy the convenience of rolling the kiln out of the way when it is not in use. The 18” tall stands raise the kiln to a convenient height for loading and unloading. Should you need a vent, merely slide the collection cup of an Orton vent into a mounting bracket on the top of one of the stands. The stands are a massive 32” square with solid tops to fully support the firebrick bottom of your kiln. The stands ship assembled in wooden crates. |
